- LAND AREA
La Carlota City has a total land area of 13,729 hectares or 139.29 hectares square kilometers. Mt. Kanlaon Natural Parl comprises an area of 1,046.125 hectares. Barangay Ara-al has the biggest land area of 1,920.5902 hectares and Barangay III in the Poblacion is the smallest with 90.2221 hectares.
La Carlota City is geographically located at the Southwestern portion of Negros Occidental. It is bounded in the north of Bago City, the mountain ranges of Kanlaon Volcano in the East; the town of La Castellana in the Southeast, the town of Pontevedra in the South and the town of San Enrique.

- POLITICAL SUBDIVISION
La Carlota City is composed of 14 barangays, three (3) Urban and eleven (11) Rural. The Urban barangays are: Barangay 1, Barangay II, Barangay III all located in the city proper. Barangay Yubo with a distance of seventeen point nine (17.9) kilometers from the urban core is the farthest.
Dry Season is experienced from the month of January until May and wet season for the rest of the year. Average rainfall is 214.10 mm.
The First recorded population was 3,097 in 1903. The 1995 National Statistics Office survey has recorded a population of 56,414. The 1997 Pupolation was 57,982 and in the year 2002, the population peaked at 62,094. By then the Population Density was 4.5 person/hectare. Of the 14 Barangays, Barangay II has the biggest population at 9,221 and Barangay Yubo had the smallest with 1,962.
- LANGUAGES/DIALECTS SPOKEN
Generally, the residents of the city speaks Ilonggo, about 96% of the populace and about 4% speaks other languages such as Tagalog, Cebuano, Aklanon and Ilocano. English is generally understood by the populace.
There are five different denomination that exist in the city, 76% are Roman Catholic, 10% belongs to the Philippine Independent Church (Aglipayan), 3% belongs to Iglesia Ni Kristo, 1% belongs to the Jesus Christ of the Latter Day Saints, and the other 10% belongs to the Baptists and Protestants.
The economic condition reflected in its 2020 Annual Budget of P 550,000,000.00 derived from various sources the increase collection of local taxes of P66,000,000.00 and the Internal Revenue Allotment (IRA) – National Share of P484,000,000.00 an increase of 10% compared to 2019 IRA level.
