SECURING MAYOR’S PERMIT FOR NEW AND EXISTING BUSINESS

ABOUT THE SERVICE

This involves the issuance of Mayor’s Permit for new and existing business.

All business establishments are required to secure Mayor’s Permit and pay the necessary taxes and fees before operation. This is in accordance with the Municipal Ordinance No. 2004-020, Revenue Code of the Municipality of Pateros.

The Mayor’s Permit for Business must be renewed every January 1 to 20 of the year. Penalties and interests are imposed after this period. Business tax for new enterprise is based on capitalization. For succeeding years, tax is computed based on percentage of gross receipts/sales. Payments may be made annually, semi-annually or quarterly. For quarterly payment, taxes shall be paid on or before the 20th day of the first month of each quarter. For semi-annual, taxes shall be paid on or before the 20th day of January and July.

SECURING OCCUPATIONAL PERMIT NOT REQUIRING GOVERNMENT EXAMINATION

ABOUT THE SERVICE

This provides the issuance of Occupational Permit to individuals working within the Municipality of Pateros as required by the Municipal Ordinance No. 2004-020 such as hairstylist, manicurist, Guest Relations Officer (GRO), waitress, professional boxer, welder, fortune teller, etc.

SECURING CERTIFICATE FOR RETIREMENT OF BUSINESS

ABOUT THE SERVICE

This involves the issuance of Certificate for Retirement of Business.

Any person, natural or judicial, subject to business tax under the Municipal Ordinance No. 2004-020 shall, upon termination of business, submit a sworn statement of the gross sales or receipts of the current calendar year and reason for retirement within 30 days following the closure. Any tax due thereon must be paid before any business or undertaking is fully terminated. Retirement/termination shall mean that business operations are stopped completely. Any change in ownership, management and name of the business shall not be construed as termination.
